Elder Candidates

Lisa and I both accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior as teenagers and continue to learn how to walk in His grace and abide in His love. God has faithfully been transforming our hearts and drawing us closer to Him in our faith journey.

We have recently celebrated 33 years of marriage, and she is a precious gift of God in my life! We have been blessed with five children who have all placed their faith in Christ. We enjoy each of our ten grandchildren and rejoice in what God is doing in their lives.

I am currently retired after 40 years as a teacher, principal and area superintendent in Leander ISD. Lisa has been a pre-school / elementary teacher for the past 30 years.

Over the years God has called us into lifelong service to His church through children and youth ministries, community group leadership, church planting teams, premarital counseling, parenting training and discipleship. I served as an elder or deacon for over 20 years in 4 different churches. The opportunity to love and serve our North Way Bible Church family as an elder and elder’s wife would be a humbling and joyful experience for both me and Lisa.

“God is able to make all grace abound to you, that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” (2 Cor. 9:8)

Kelly and I have been married 36 years and have two sons who currently live in Minnesota. We got married shortly after graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston IL. We raised our family in the Chicago area and then moved to Minnesota in 2013 to accommodate my job change. During 2020, we moved to Leander to take care of Kelly’s father who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Simultaneous with the move, I retired from my position as Chief Information Officer for a global insurance company.

I grew up attending the Salvation Army as my father administered and pastored an adult rehabilitation center for the Salvation Army on the near west side of Chicago. I came to faith in middle school in response to an altar call at this church, knowing I needed to make my faith my own. Both Kelly and I were active in Salvation Army music programs and met during our high school years in one of these programs. After starting to attend a local Baptist church in the Chicago area, we began leading a small group and continued to be active with small groups after moving to Minnesota.

Kelly and I began attending North Way Bible Church in 2021. I am a member of the media team and assist Kelly who coordinates the coffee team. In addition, we attend a small group.

Current Elder - Extending 1 Year

I trusted Christ as my savior as a 6 year old at Vacation Bible School in Borger, Texas, and have been seeking to follow Jesus since then. I married my lovely and talented wife,  Lori, 33 years ago. Together, we have raised our three sons,  Aaron, Justin, and Rudy, and our daughter, Sarah, with the gospel in mind. We were blessed with our first grandchild in March, 2020. For the first 27 years of my career, I served as an associate pastor in various roles at churches in Texas and then California. We moved back to Texas to be closer to family. We have attended North Way Bible Church for over five years, where I have participated in worship, missions, children’s ministries and led two Community Groups. My heart is to disciple and teach people to disciple and teach others.
